Sure, all the British styled pubs with their knees-ups and sing-a-longs are there, complete with an abundance of cafes serving pies and chips to the hungry British palates, but look a little further (or avoid the tackier areas all together) and you'll come across the towns old quarter which is home to the Benidorm of years gone by.

Crammed onto a rock precipice between Benidorms Playa Levante and Playa Poniente beaches, you'll be able to take in the atmosphere of the Old Towns bustling narrow streets which are home to white washed houses fringed by wrought iron balconies, bursting with flowers and the spectacular coastal views from the 'Balcony of the Mediterranean'.

A growing gay scene of gay and gay friendly bars awaits you, so put aside any pre-conceptions and come and enjoy Benidorm for yourself!

The resort: The BENIDORM accommodation that we offer is in the centre of this sprawling resort, literally within just a couple of minutes walk from the the old town and the gay scene. Being a built up, commercial area some street noise is inevitable and if you hire a car, finding a parking space may not be easy but is usually possible.

The nearest gay nudist beach is at the cove of 'Racó del Conill' that while pleasant enough is not particularly big and is pebble or rock-ledge based (so don't go imagining endless sands!). Racó del Conill is several kilometres south of Benidorm town centre: the beach can be reached by car (there is a large car park) and also by a regular bus services from the town centre which then leaves you about a 25 minute moderate walk (more info in your resort guide) up and over a steepish wooded hill that may not be suitable for people with walking problems. Gay cruising takes place on the (looking at the sea and on the left hand side) rock ledges and wooded hillside whilst doggers use the large car park. In peak season and on sunny weekends this little beach can get very busy and if you arrive late you may not find anywhere comfortable to lie.

We suggest this resort for the summer months only, with the busiest times from late May to late October.
 

The Mar Blau is a great value for money hotel with an ideal sea front position on Benidorm's Poniente beach and is just a few minutes walk in to the town centre. 

 

The hotel has 53 comfortable twin and single rooms, each with air conditioning/ heating, telephone, safe, satellite television, and private bathroom. Many of the twin rooms have a balcony and all important sea view for just a small supplement - make sure you book early to ensure you get one!

If you're looking for decent self-catering accommodation then look no further than the modern, friendly Milord's Suites.

This compact 'aparthotel' has just 28 one bedroom apartments and is right in the heart of  Benidorm town centre, next to the Playa Poniente beach and just a couple of minutes walk from the gay bars in the 'old town'. Each one bedroom apartment has air conditioning, kitchenette, lounge area, bedroom and bathroom. Sea view apartments are available - but book early as these sell out fast!

The Milord has a compact pool, terrace, bar and a restaurant and mini-gym should you feel like a work out!

For accommodation that's not going to go easy on your wallet, then consider the Citypark Estudios.

Located right in the centre of the resort (on one of the towns busy pedestrianised shopping streets, so some noise is going to be inevitable: more in the way of people talking, rather than excessive vehicle noise) these self-catering studios are simple but functional: each apartment has twin beds, limited kitchen/cooking facilities, a bathroom and balcony.

The central location means you'll find that both of Benidorm's main beaches, all of the towns shops and services and the gay bars are all within just a couple of minutes of the Citypark.
