If your perception of Mallorca is of lager
louts wearing Union jack shorts, packed into high rise
apartment blocks, then maybe its time to think again. You'll
be pleasantly surprised to find that the gay destination of
Palma de Mallorca, the Islands capital town, is rapidly
becoming one of Europe's trendiest places.
Palma boasts many outstanding historic buildings, including
the dramatic Cathedral and the gorgeous Almudaina Palace,
excellent restaurants, and, if you feel like really bending
your plastic friend (no, not that one!), some great shopping
opportunities!
Venture out from Palma and you'll find secluded sandy
coves, fantastic beaches, cosmopolitan towns and remote
villages where life proceeds at a leisurely pace, unaffected
by tourism.
The gay nightlife is firmly centred in Palma and here
you'll experience a marked difference from other Spanish gay
holiday destinations. The scene here is more Spanish
orientated than the commercial, international tourist "mix"
you'll find in other resorts - ideal for getting a true
taste of Spanish gay life!
SEASON: SUMMER March - end of October
The resort we offer: PALMA DE MALLORCA
is Mallorca's, and the Balearic Islands, historic capital
town. The accommodation that we feature is located in or
near the Gomila district of the city, home to Palma's gay
scene. Walking from Gomila to the Cathedral and centre of
the city takes about 20 - 30 minutes, but plenty of buses
and taxis are available. Palma is a working port, and there
is little in the way of sandy beaches. There is, however, a
pleasant enough pebbly cove about 25 minutes walk from the
Gomila area where nude sunbathing and gay cruising is
commonplace. Mallorca has some great beaches further afield
but you really need a car to get to them easily.
